ParentsClub.jpgDear CDP Families,

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!  The CDP Parents’ Club is looking forward to a great year, and we appreciate your support through your family’s Parents’ Club Membership.

As a Mother of 3 that has had the pleasure of having children at CDP for the last 5 years, I have seen first hand how important parent involvement is to the CDP teachers, staff, and most importantly, to our children.  So, I encourage you to please get involved in any way that you can through your Membership Dues and participation in a Parents’ Club Committee.

You may be asking yourself why do I need to join Parents’ Club to be involved.  Do I really need to join a club to show that I am an involved CDP Parent?  It is a reasonable question to ask, and to answer it, let me elaborate on the important initiatives the Parents’ Club has each year that provide much needed support to this outstanding school.

  1. Teacher & Staff Birthday and Christmas Gifts  - Monetary gifts to each teacher and staff member to say thank you for what they do for our children and help them celebrate these special occasions.
  2. Classroom Wish List Items  - Educational items or toys that each teacher “wishes” they had in the class (but currently do not) in order to enhance our children’s experience each day at school.
  3. Staff Appreciation Gifts – Monetary gifts for the staff and floating teachers to thank them for what they do for CDP and our children.  Remember, these hard working individuals do not receive Christmas and End of Year gifts from the classroom collections that the teachers receive.
  4. Family Fellowship Opportunities –  Parents’ Club sponsors fellowship events for CDP families to get to know each other better, have some fun and share the experiences we have rearing our young children (Dad’s Night, Spring Carnival, etc.).
  5. Capital Needs for CDP – Annually, from the Spring Carnival proceeds, Parents’ Club provides funding for a large need for CDP.  In the past, we have provided computers for the classrooms, emergency preparedness kits, light boxes, and playground improvements.  All of these projects were not possible based on tuition alone and have significantly enhanced the preschool experience for the children.

I hope you will join us this year as a Parents’ Club Member and share in the joy that we have in being able to give back to the school that is giving so much to our children and families.  Our goal is 100% family participation, and we can’t do that without your help!  We hope you will prayerfully consider your membership and any additional contributions you can make to enhance the impact we can have this year on the CDP.

With Appreciation,

Ashley Allen

2011-2012 CDP Parents’ Club President
