This trip is part of Youth Ministry Department of Highland Park United Methodist Church. While on the trip we will be representing both the Christian Faith and HPUMC. As a church Youth Ministry we will conduct ourselves individually and as a group in ways that are consistent with who we are and what we represent.
In a trip of our size it will be important that we operate on trust and that eeveryone clearly understands teh guildines we will poerate by and what is expected of each person.
Minimun Expecations
1. Alcohol, tobacco, inhalants, fireworks, weapons (including knives) or illegal drugs of any kind will not be tolerated
2. Illegal activity of any kind will not be tolerated including vandalism and shoplifting and police will be notified.
3. We will respect the physical property of others, including transportation we use and places we stay.
4. The lange we use and our attitude MUST reflect the Christian nature of our group. Put-downs, abraisive and profanity will not be tolerated>
5. Everyone will be expected to be present and on time to all events
6. We are never to be off by ourselves
7. we need to be in the rooms by cerfew. You will be notified of this time on the trip.
8. We are never to get into a vehicle that is not part of our group.
9. We are never to go off with anyone who is not part of our group.
10. Have fun , help others to have fun, and get to know others. Be kind and considerate.
Vilations of the Rules
Minor / Moderat Violations:
Refer to those things which may seem minor but are inconsistant with who we are as a group - if these become a problem a staff member or an adult volunteer wiill immediately address any minor concerns. The expecation will be that we will no longer have to address the issue for the remainder of the trip. Concequences will be appropriate for the violation.
Minor violations may include but are not limited to:
-Use of innapropriate languange
-Being late to activities
-Not working at the worksite
-Removing onself from the group
-Doing things that we ahve been asked not to
Moderate violations may inculde but are not limited to:
-repeating minor violations
-Disrespect
-Missing schedule event
Major Violations:
These revre to those things that do not belong on an HPUMC Youth Mission Trip - or compromise the safety to the individual or group. These violations will result in the participants parent being called and the HPUMC Youth Staff will determine if the participant can safely remain on the trip or if there is a need for the child to be sent home (at the parents expense)
Major violations include but are not limited to:
-Use of alcohol, tobacco, inhalants, illegal drugs, weapons
-Sneaking out
-Wandering off alone
-Physical fighting or abuse
-Sexual activity
